Barbara Caudana

Personal Lines Department Manager

Interestingly enough, as a child, I wanted to become an electrician. When I was a youngster, my family owned an electrical contracting company in Vancouver, Canada. I was lucky enough to tag along with my dad on some of the jobs; I saw not only how he handled his customers, but also the huge projects he would work on all around the country.

After taking a part-time position in insurance as a high-schooler, I was bit by the “insurance bug.” In 1976, I started my insurance career in Vancouver, as an agent selling marine, auto and homeowners insurance, and even worked as a claims adjuster. After moving to Los Angeles in 1986, I hit the ground running as a producer shortly before moving into management.

When I’m not training insurance agents, and making sure clients are properly insured, I like to spend my time camping, finding estate sales, and spending time with my three daughters and husband of 33 years.

One aspect of being an electrician that attracted me to the profession was being able to help people in need. Obviously, working in insurance gives me the same opportunity. As a certified instructor with the California Department of Insurance, I also enjoy teaching and training those new to the career; my position with Conrey Insurance Brokers allows me to do both.
